See Teddy Roosevelt at Malibu Rotary Club Meeting
A Theodore Roosevelt impersonator brings the past president to life on the Pepperdine Campus. The public is welcome.

History buffs will want to catch a performance by Theodore Roosevelt impersonator Joe Wiegand Wednesday at the Malibu Rotary Club’s meeting held at Pepperdine’s Drescher Graduate Campus, 24255 Pacific Coast Hwy. The meeting is open to the public and begins at 11:30 a.m. Wiegand is set to take the stage around 12 noon, according to the club’s Facebook page.
The performance is Wiegand’s second to last for 2015, according to his website, and only his ninth in California this year. The impersonator has taken his show to many of the places associated with Teddy Roosevelt’s life and legacy, including the American Museum of Natural History, The Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the National Parks Service.
He also performed at the White House for President George W. Bush in honor of Roosevelt’s 150th birthday in 2008 and posed for a Roosevelt bronze sculpture at the American Museum of Natural History.

Wiegand will be seen in a feature role in “Wild America,” a film about our national parks, due in IMAX theaters in January 2016.
He began performing as Theodore Roosevelt in 2004, according to his website, after spending 25 years in public policy and political campaigns. Wiegand has been named a Wilkins Scholar, a Harry S. Truman Scholar, and a Thomas J. Watson Fellow.

As a 24-year member of Rotary International and a member of the Encinitas, CA Rotary Club, he gifts his performances to rotary clubs, according to the Malibu Times.
