View Rancho Palos Verdes' Highest Paid Workers: CA State Controller's List For 2024
A published list of city, county and state workers is now available. Here is the breakdown of who is paid the most in your area.
RANCHO PALOS VERDES — Who gets paid the most to work in Rancho Palos Verdes? According to a report released Wednesday by the California Controller's Office, the 10 highest-paid officials work in public safety and other city government departments.
The agency recently published its 2024 "Government Compensation in California" analysis, which shows how taxpayer funds were spent in the previous year and who received what for being on the public payroll.
"This report is a vital tool in promoting fiscal transparency and accountability in local government," Controller Malia Cohen said. "Californians deserve to know how public funds are being spent and who is being paid with their tax dollars."

The individual who received the most significant income in Rancho Palos Verdes was the city manager, who made $285,453 in wages in 2024.
The other highest-paid employees were in the city's public works, community development and finance department.

The city manager has been the highest-paid position in RPV for the last nine years. In 2023, the city manager made just over $276,506. They saw a small wage increase in 2024, making $285,453.
As for elected officials, nobody made more than $8,886. The mayor, meanwhile, made $4,800 in wages.
RPV maintained 170 government positions in 2024, paying out $9,219,626 in wages, according to the California Controller's Office.
