$1.6M Check To Be Presented To Pasadena Playhouse

Assemblyman Chris Holden will present a $1.6 million check from the state budget to the Pasadena Playhouse on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

PASADENA, CA — Some much needed improvements to a Pasadena landmark inches closer to reality.

Assemblyman Chris Holden, D-Pasadena, will present a $1.6 million check from the state budget to the Pasadena Playhouse during its first performance of "Head Over Heels."

The California legislature made the funding possible after passing AB 129 and SB 129 in June.

Holden will present the check between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9 to Danny Feldman, producing artistic director for Pasadena Playhouse.

The state check will help fund heating, ventilation, and air conditioning upgrades at the theater, Pasadena Now previously reported.

Wednesday's event marks the theater's first public performance since it closed due to the pandemic.

Pasadena Playhouse – The Official State Theater of California, is one of oldest theaters in America at 100 years old. It's located at 39 S. El Molino Avenue.
