Bear Found Wandering Pasadena Streets

The animal apparently found its way back to the wilderness, according to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife

PASADENA, CA - A bear was spotted roaming through a Pasadena neighborhood Monday night.

Reports began coming in after 7 p.m. of a bear wandering in the area of Sierra Madre Boulevard and Riviera Drive, according to Pasadena police Lt. John Luna.

The animal was also spotted in a back yard south of Sierra Madre Boulevard on Rim Road, Luna said.

City animal services responded and summoned state Department of Fish and Wildlife personnel, he said.

Two game wardens were working with police officers to locate the bear, but the animal apparently found its way back to the wilderness, according to Andrew Hughan of the Department of Fish and Wildlife.
