South Pasadena Arson Case Extends Into Pasadena

The South Pasadena Police are on the trail of a firebug who has set up to 13 fires over the last several months, authorities said. The trail stretches into Pasadena.

South Pasadena detectives working an arson case that has crossed the border into Pasadena say there's been an uptick in fires over the last two weeks.

Det. Bill Early told Patch Tuesday that police have found similar devices at all the crime scenes indicating the blazes were set purposely. Many of the fires occurred along Arroyo Drive, at about 10 p.m.

South Pasadena Police also discovered an arson fire in the alley alongside a house in the 800 block of Grand Avenue in South Pasadena. Another fire was ignited in the  high school parking lot, Early said.
