1 Hospitalized, 1 Arrested In Petaluma DUI Crash: Police
A community member alerted the Petaluma Police Department to the collision on a freeway overpass.
PETALUMA, CA — One person was injured and one person was arrested in a suspected DUI crash Wednesday night on a freeway overpass in Petaluma.
The Petaluma Police Department received information from a community member shortly before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday about a collision involving at least two vehicles on the Caulfield Lane overpass. Officers responded to find two cars with significant damage and one of the drivers suffering injuries.
The Petaluma Fire Department responded to care for the patient, who was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening," Petaluma police Sgt. Ryan Suhrke said.

"The other driver was identified as Andrea Gill, who displayed signs of possibly being under the influence and a DUI investigation was started by PPD’s DUI Officer," Suhrke said. "At the conclusion of the investigation, Gill was determined to be driving while under the influence. Officers also discovered that Gill had been driving without a valid driver’s license."
Gill was arrested on suspicion of DUI with injury, DUI with 308 BAC, and driving without a license.

Her car was towed from the scene and impounded.
Gill remained in custody Thursday morning with a court appearance set for Friday morning, jail records showed.
"The Petaluma Police Department would like to thank the alert community member who notified the Petaluma Police Department of the collision, which ultimately led to the involved parties receiving necessary medical treatment and arresting a suspected DUI driver," Suhrke said.
