SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has identified a woman who died in a head-on collision on Lakeville Highway east of Petaluma on Saturday night as Karen Quackenbush, 38, of Sonoma. Quackenbush was driving a 2006 Toyota Scion north on Lakeville Highway south of Old Lakeville Road No. 1 around 9:10 p.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Jon Sloat said.
Quackenbush failed to negotiate a curve in the road and crossed the double yellow lines into the path of a 2017 Ford Freedom Elite motorhome. Both vehicles came to rest against guardrails, Sloat said.
Quackenbush, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Petaluma Valley Hospital where she died, according to Sloat.
