• Hate Crimes, Neon Chicks, Haughty Hotels, And 'WOW Wall': Petaluma (patch.com) — Petaluma is grappling with a hate-crime arrest involving vandalism of a Harlem Globetrotter’s SUV while also rallying donations to restore the beloved Hatchery neon chick sign on Petaluma Boulevard North. At the same time, residents and business leaders remain divided over competing luxury hotel visions for a long-blighted downtown lot, even as a new Dave & Buster’s in nearby Santa Rosa promises jobs and entertainment for Petaluma-area families.
   

• Man Arrested For Hate-Related Vandalism: Police (patch.com) — Petaluma police arrested a 20-year-old local man after a car was vandalized with racist slurs and Nazi symbols in a downtown parking garage earlier this month. Officers say surveillance footage led to an arrest warrant, and the suspect was booked into Sonoma County Jail on vandalism and hate-crime allegations. Residents with information are urged to contact Petaluma police.
