PETALUMA, CA — Petaluma police arrested a man who barricaded himself in a trailer that he is suspected of attacking before hiding from officers under a mattress, Petaluma police said.

Police were dispatched to the trailer early Friday morning after reports that a man was "causing extensive damage to a trailer and acting unpredictably."

Officers attempted to contact Reece, leading to a lengthy negotiation. While officers requested a warrant for the man's arrest, he barricaded himself inside the trailer using a ratchet strap and a metal bar braced against the door.

After cutting through the barricade, officers found Reece hiding under a shelf beneath a mattress, according to the Petaluma Police Department, who said in a news release that the man physically resisted officers’ efforts and refused commands to exit. They pulled Reece from the trailer, placing him on the ground, where he was taken into custody without injury.

Officers determined that the man had caused well over $400 in damage to the victim’s trailer. The victim requested Reece’s arrest and identified him as Logan Reece, 31, of Petaluma.
