Caltrans Announces Highway 12 Closures In Sonoma County
The full and partial weekend closures were postponed during inclement weather.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — As part of a paving and concrete slab replacement project, Caltrans will alternate partial and full closures of westbound state Highway Route 12 in Santa Rosa between Santa Rosa Avenue and Dutton Avenue from 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, and 5 a.m Monday, Feb. 26.
The closures will be divided into day and night shifts. During night closures, the westbound freeway between Santa Rosa and Dutton Avenue will be closed. During day closures one lane will be open and one lane closed.
During the night shifts from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., the westbound direction of the freeway will be fully closed, except on Monday, Feb. 26, when the closure ends at 5 a.m.

Detours will guide motorists around the closed portion of the freeway.
During the day shifts from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., one of two lanes in the westbound direction will be closed. Motorists traveling westbound on SR-12 between Santa Rosa Avenue and Dutton Avenue should prepare for significant delays or choose an alternative route.

The weekend closures allow Caltrans to expedite the demolishing and recasting of concrete pavement slabs, which the agency said would take much longer to complete during typical night closures.
The slab replacement is part of a larger project that began in June to rehabilitate a three-mile stretch of SR-12 between Llano Road and Farmers Lane in Santa Rosa.
