Dozens Of Citations Issued In Thursday Night Petaluma Traffic Sting
The operation focused on the areas of North McDowell Boulevard and East Washington Street.

PETALUMA - A multi-agency traffic enforcement operation in Petaluma on Thursday resulted in 36 citations issued, according to the Petaluma Police Department.
Officers with the Petaluma Police Department, the Santa Rosa Police Department and the Cotati Traffic Unit participated in the operation.
The operation focused on the areas of North McDowell Boulevard and East Washington Street.

During the operation, there were 45 traffic stops and 36 traffic citations issued for speed, red signal violations, cellphone violations, drivers not wearing seat belts, stop sign violations and unsafe lane changes.
Petaluma police have waged an aggressive fight against bad drivers in the past month.

Police said a pedestrian was also cited for running onto East Washington Street at the U.S. Highway 101 overpass in front of a vehicle.
