Ex-Employee of Petaluma Business Arrested on Check Forgery Charges
BREAKING: Rebecca Nommsen-Miller, 40, of Rohnert Park, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and forgery.

PETALUMA, CA -- Police have arrested a woman in connection with cashing more than $36,000 in forged checks from her former employer, police said.
On Jan. 10, the Petaluma Police Department was contacted by Dolce Neve, a Petaluma-based supplier of beverage, café and barista equipment regarding a case of forgery by a former employee. Rebecca Andrea Nommsen-Miller had been employed by the company for three weeks from late September 2016 through mid-October 2016.
After Nommsen-Miller left the company, it was discovered that she had allegedly cashed 26 checks from the company’s account at various local banks and businesses. Dolce Neve said the loss was in excess of $36,000.

Petaluma Police Department detectives had been working on the case for a week and had obtained a search warrant for Nommsen-Miller’s residence in Rohnert Park; she was arrested in Petaluma on the afternoon of Jan. 20 after she had attempted to pass another forged check at a market in the Plaza North Shopping Center.
Nommsen-Miller was booked at Sonoma County Jail for burglary and forgery related charges, with bail set at $100,000.
