Lakeville Highway Reopens After Fatal Crash In Petaluma
State Highway 116 was closed from Frates Road to Browns Lane as emergency personnel responded.
PETALUMA, CA — Road closures were lifted at Lakeville Highway and Pine View Way shortly before 7 p.m.. Thursday following a fatal crash, according to Petaluma police.
The collision on state Highway 116 was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m. A black BMW sedan was involved in a collision with another sedan which landed off the roadway and in a field, according to California Highway Patrol dispatchers.
Lakeville Highway was closed between Frates Road and Browns Lane, the CHP reported.

The Petaluma Police Department urged the public to avoid Lakeville Highway at Pine View Way as the crash was expected to cause traffic backups and detours for an extended period.
Messages were displayed on U.S. Highway 101 to alert drivers about the traffic situation.
