Fatality Reported In Highway 116 Crash In Sonoma County

The eastbound lane was blocked, with one-way traffic control in effect.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — At least one person was killed in a traffic crash Friday east of Petaluma on state Highway 116 near Old Adobe Road.

The collision was reported shortly before 4:30 p.m. on eastbound Highway 116 just west of Riscioni Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

As of 6:30 p.m. Friday, there was a severe traffic alert. The eastbound lane remained blocked, and one-way traffic control was in effect. Motorists were advised to expect delays and if possible, use alternate routes.

There was no immediate information on the vehicles involved in the crash, nor did CHP have an estimated time for when the roadway may reopen.
