📰 News we're reading

1. Two Pups Lost On Christmas Day, One Found (patch.com) — Petaluma animal services are asking residents to help identify two dogs found loose in town over the holidays, one near Ely Boulevard South and East Washington and another on Petaluma Boulevard North. Both pups wore collars but had no tags or microchips, so staff are seeking tips by phone. A third missing dog, Rosie, has been located and is being reunited with her family after a veterinary check-up.

2. Former Bay Area Cop Hit With Child Porn Charges After Explosives, Meth Arrest (patch.com) — Petaluma readers are learning more about the escalating federal case against resident and former Stockton police officer Gregory Klemme, who now faces a child pornography charge on top of earlier explosives and meth allegations. Investigators say the new charge stems from evidence found on his phone during an arson and explosives probe that began after a July fire in Sonoma County. Klemme remains in custody with bail previously set at $1 million.

3. Float Easy, Petaluma! Floathouse Safety-Launch Fundraiser (patch.com) — Petaluma river lovers are being asked to help the Petaluma Floathouse raise $20,000 for new safety equipment, including a small pontoon boat and swim ladders to aid paddlers in trouble. Volunteers say the upgrades will improve on-the-water response, protect the river environment, and support the many popular guided paddles that draw residents onto the Petaluma River.

4. Townhouse sells in Petaluma for $540,000 (pressdemocrat.com) — A townhouse at 125 Acorn Drive in Petaluma just sold for $540,000, offering two bedrooms, two baths, and an attached garage. The article also compares this sale with other recent townhouse transactions on Acorn Circle and Freedom Lane, giving Petaluma homeowners a snapshot of current neighborhood prices.

5. Businesses on the move in North Bay counties (pressdemocrat.com) — A Petaluma office at 1301 Redwood Way just landed a new tenant, Vista Environmental Consulting, in a 931-square-foot lease recorded in November. The deal is part of a broader roundup of recent commercial real estate leases and sales across Marin, Sonoma, and Solano counties that highlights shifting business activity in the North Bay.
