Here's How Low The Temp Will Dip In Petaluma

PETALUMA, CA — A freeze warning issued by the National Weather Service was forecast to remain effective until 10 a.m. Wednesday for the valleys of the North Bay.

While sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 degrees were expected in Petaluma and Sonoma County, low temps in the middle 30s were forecasted elsewhere in the Bay Area.

"Cold conditions will be hazardous to sensitive populations such as unhoused individuals," the weather service said. "Cold conditions can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing."

The North Bay valleys, Southern Salinas Valley/Arroyo Seco and Lake San Antonio went under the freeze warning at midnight.

A frost advisory was in effect for the rest of the Bay Area, from the interior East Bay to Santa Clara Valley, the eastern Santa Clara Hills, the northern Salinas Valley, the Hollister Valley, interior Monterey and San Benito counties, and the Santa Lucia range.
