Loaded Assault Rifle, Pistol Found In Teen's Bedroom: Police
An 18-year-old faces gun charges after police find guns and narcotics in a bedroom.
SANTA ROSA, CA — An 18-year-old is facing gun charges after a special enforcement team, along with gang crime and narcotics detectives, recovered assault weapons from his bedroom during a home search Thursday, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.
The suspect, Ismael Campos, was charged with felony and misdemeanor counts, including possessing an assault weapon, Santa Rosa police said in a social media post.
Police said they found a loaded SKS 7.62x39 semi-automatic rifle and a loaded .40 caliber Sig P320 pistol in the bedroom of the apartment where they found Campos, in the 2300 block of Hickock Court in Santa Rosa. The pistol's serial numbers had been "obliterated." Police said they also found what they suspected to be cocaine.

During the search, a minor in the apartment fled police by climbing a fence. Police found him hiding on the property. He was already on probation in Sonoma County. His name was withheld because he is a minor. He was booked into Juvenile Hill and faces charges of resisting arrest and violating probation.
The search just before 2 p.m. was part of an ongoing illegal weapons investigation led by the Special Enforcement Team, which the department said was developed to address the rise in illegal firearms and gun violence in Santa Rosa.
