Man Asleep In Truck Busted For 500 Fentanyl Pills, Loaded Gun: Cops
The man from Alaska was parked against traffic with the hazard lights flashing.
PETALUMA, CA — Two people from Alaska were arrested Sunday night in unincorporated Petaluma with 500 suspected fentanyl pills, a loaded gun and more drugs, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said.
Sheriff's Spokesperson Rob Dillion said a deputy was responding to an alarm call in Petaluma when he noticed a pickup truck towing a trailer parked against traffic with its hazard lights flashing.
"The driver was slumped over the steering wheel and wasn't moving," Dillion said. "Concerned that the driver was hurt or unconscious, the deputy pulled over and walked to the truck."

As the deputy tried to wake the driver, he saw the driver start to reach for something near the center console. So, to ensure the safety of everyone involved, deputies got both the driver and passenger out of the truck. As the driver was getting out, the deputy noticed a small bag of a white crystalline substance between the driver's feet, Dillion said.
It is alleged that when the deputy searched the immediate area of the driver's seat, a loaded .45 caliber pistol, additional ammunition, a loaded magazine, a large fixed-blade knife, 500 suspected fentanyl pills, multiple baggies of suspected fentanyl powder and a baggie of suspected methamphetamine, totaling 244.5 grams of suspected fentanyl and 92.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

The driver, identified as Kayne Enyeart, 61, of Alaska, was arrested and booked into Sonoma County jail on suspicion of eight felonies:
• felon in possession of a gun
• carrying a loaded gun in a vehicle
• felon in possession of ammunition
• possession of narcotics for sale
• transporting narcotics for sale
• possession of illegal drugs and a loaded gun
• possession of a controlled substance for sale
• transporting a controlled substance.
Jail records show Enyeart was no longer in custody Thursday.
The passenger, Deanna Welsh, 52, of Alaska, was cited and released on suspicion of ffour charges:
• possession of narcotics for sale
• transporting narcotics for sale
• possession of methamphetamine for sale
• transportation of methamphetamine for sale
"We are proud of the work our deputies do on patrol and are excited to see our narcotics unit up and running this month," Dillion said.
