Man Shot During Armed Robbery In Petaluma

The suspect demanded the victim's property at gunpoint before shooting him in the hand and leg and fleeing.

PETALUMA, CA — A man was shot in Petaluma early Sunday morning during an armed street robbery.

The victim self-transported to a hospital with two gunshot wounds that were not considered life-threatening, according to the Petaluma Police Department.

Police were notified at 3:48 a.m. that a man had showed up at the emergency room with the injuries.

The victim told police he was approached by a man on Redwood Way, a side street east of U.S. Highway 101 that intersects with North McDowell Boulevard, while he was walking back to a nearby hotel.

Police provided few details about the suspect, describing him as a 6-foot-tall man who was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and black face mask.
