A man pushed a woman to the ground Sunday night in Petaluma, stole her purse and then drove away, police said. Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Sixth Street on a report of a robbery at about 5:55 p.m.
Witnesses reported that the suspect drove off in a green compact vehicle toward I Street following the robbery. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
The suspect is described as a man between 18 and 20 years old. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The victim, who was not injured, said she didn't know the suspect but that he was loitering nearby prior to the robbery.
