Cyclist killed in Petaluma hit-and-run identified, suspect still unknown (pressdemocrat.com) — A 67-year-old San Rafael cyclist, George Ramos, has been identified as the victim of a fatal hit-and-run on Rainsville Road near Stony Point Road in Petaluma. The November 22 crash remains unsolved, and CHP is asking anyone with information to call their Santa Rosa office or Golden Gate Dispatch center.
   

5. 17 people arrested for shoplifting in Santa Rosa retail theft crackdown (pressdemocrat.com) — Petaluma shoppers should know regional police, including Petaluma officers, joined a major Santa Rosa retail theft crackdown that led to 17 arrests in one day. Officials say similar stings have already targeted East Washington Place in Petaluma, funded by a statewide grant aimed at curbing organized shoplifting and boosting prosecution of repeat offenders.
