Petaluma Airport Receives Federal CARES Act Funds: Coronavirus
Five North Bay airports are receiving funds from the CARES Act, of which California airports received $1 billion.
PETALUMA, CA — The Petaluma Municipal Airport and four other airports in the North Bay that are impacted by the COVID-19 coronavirus have received federal funding to ensure financial support under the current travel restrictions and in preparation for a smooth transition back to full capacity, Representative Jared Huffman, D-San Rafael, said.
The funding is from the CARES Act, and California received $1 billion of the $9.1 billion awarded to thousands of airports nationwide.
The North Bay airports and the amounts they will receive are the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport north of Santa Rosa, $19,661,086; Gnoss Field in Novato, $69,000; Petaluma Municipal Airport, $69,000; Healdsburg Municipal Airport, $30,000; and Cloverdale Municipal Airport, $30,000.

"This essential infusion of federal funding for airports negotiated by Democrats in the CARES Act will help support the hard-hit travel industry," Huffman said in a news release.
More than $38 million was awarded to airports in the North Coast.
