PETALUMA, CA — A Petaluma man was arrested on a warrant after police said he caused a disturbance in his neighborhood and brandished a knife.

Officers responded to reports of a disturbance at 9:51 p.m. Dec. 30 in the 200 block of Stokes Court and identified Jesus Arenas-Guevara, 38, as the person causing the disturbance, police said.

When officers tried to contact Arenas-Guevara, who was on active Sonoma County probation, they alleged he came outside holding a knife.

A warrant was sought for Arenas-Guevara on the grounds that he displayed the knife, obstructed officers during an investigation and was in violation of his probation terms, police said.

The warrant was granted, and on Jan. 6, Arenas-Guevara was arrested by Petaluma police without incident.

Arenas-Guevara was booked into Sonoma County jail, where he remained this week without bail.
