Petaluma Police Launch Smart911 Service
The program allows residents to create a profile that emergency responders refer to when a resident calls 911.
PETALUMA, CA — The Petaluma Police Department encouraged community members to sign up for a new service called Smart911.
It allows people to create a safety profile that provides emergency responders with important information when a person calls 911. By creating a profile, users can include details such as medical conditions, allergies, emergency contacts and home addresses, among other things.
The information is automatically made available to 911 operators when the user dials emergency services, helping responders deliver more efficient and effective assistance, police said.
