Petaluma Police Nab Man Accused Of Stealing Woman's Underwear

The resident told police she saw a man in her backyard on her Ring camera.

PETALUMA, CA — Police in Petaluma on Sunday arrested a man on suspicion of burglary, the department said.

On Sunday just after 7 a.m., officers were sent to the 500 block of South McDowell Boulevard on a report of a burglary.

The resident told police she saw a man in her backyard on her Ring camera. The man allegedly entered her detached laundry room and stole a pair of women's underwear before fleeing.

Officers responded to the area and located a subject allegedly matching the provided description. Arrested was Jose Jimenez-Gomez, 24, who allegedly initially refused to cooperate and attempted to walk away from officers. Ultimately, the subject complied and was taken into custody, police said.

Jimenez-Gomez was allegedly in possession of the stolen underwear and was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of prowling and burglary.
