Petaluma Ballot Measures Struggle For Approval: Early Election Results

PETALUMA, CA — Votes have been cast in Tuesday's presidential primary election and polls officially closed at 8 p.m. in Sonoma County and across California.

Sonoma County election results released at 9:59 p.m. showed Sonoma County Measure H passing with 61.33 percent voting yes and 38.67 percent voting no. A simple majority was needed for the measure to pass.

Petaluma measures B and E both needed two-thirds majority votes to pass. As of 9:59 p.m. Tuesday, neither measure had the votes required. Measure E was just shy of approval, with 65.02 percent voting yes and 34.98 percent voting no. Measure B was also close, with 60.28 percent voting yes and 39.72 percent voting no. With votes still being counted, there remains a chance one or both could reach the number of votes required.
