Search For Kayaker Last Seen Near Sonoma Coast Suspended
A Sonoma County helicopter crew assisted the U.S. Coast Guard in the search.
NORTH BAY, CA — Authorities have suspended the search for a missing Marin kayaker, the U.S. Coast Guard said in a news release.
The kayaker was last seen Friday off Lawson’s Landing in Tomales Bay.
“The search was suspended pending further information after first responders found no sign of the missing kayaker,” the agency said.

Coast Guard Station Bodega Bay at 6:38 p.m. Friday received a notification from the Marin County Dispatch regarding a 911 call reporting an overturned green kayak 200 yards south of Lawsons Landing.
Coast Guard Station Bodega Bay responders notified Coast Guard Sector San Francisco watchstanders, which issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast notice to mariners and deployed Coast Guard assets to search the area.

Southern Marin Fire Department jet ski operators, Marin County divers and a Sonoma County helicopter crew assisted the Coast Guard in the search.
The winds were 20 mph and seas were up to 6 feet around the time the kayaker went missing, according to the Coast Guard.
