Striking Out Childhood Cancer Begins With You
Alex's Lemonade Stand, the foundation dedicated to finding cures for childhood cancer, will stage a bowling bash on Oct. 21 to raise money.

PETALUMA, CA – It takes a village to eliminate cancer. That's why the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation is hosting its fourth "Striking Out Childhood Cancer" as a fundraiser at Boulevard Lanes and Elks Lodge in Petaluma on Oct. 21.
The birthday bowling bash commemorates what would have been honoree CJ Banaszek's 18th birthday. He died July 15, 2014 at age 13, after a hard-fought battle with leukemia.
CJ's mother, Heather, hopes the event will carry on her son's legacy through the unique tradition of carrying on the foundation's efforts. Alex's Lemonade Stand as a nonprofit is named after another young fighter, Alexandra "Alex" Scott, who set up a donation box at a frontyard lemonade stand in Manchester, Conn.
