Suspect Killed By Cloverdale Police Identified
Victor Gonzalez apparently charged at officers with a hammer before he was shot.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A man who was shot and killed by Cloverdale police last weekend has been identified as Victor Gonzalez.
Gonzalez, 44 of Cloverdale, was shot after he was found prowling in someone's backyard on the 100 block of Garden Circle last Sunday. Authorities said Gonzalez was holding a hammer and charged at the officers at the scene after he was told to drop the weapon. Two officers then fired at Gonzalez.
Gonzalez was then transported to Memorial Hospital where he died.

Petaluma Police Department, along with the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Detective Unit, are currently investigating the incident.
