Suspected DUI Driver Becomes Trapped In Rollover Crash: Petaluma PD
An officer was driving by and saw the car on its side. He tried to help the driver out of the car but was not immediately able to.
PETALUMA, CA — An Oakland man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-related charges when he rolled his car Thursday night in Petaluma, police said.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m. Thursday, an officer saw the car resting on its side near East Washington Street and Ely Boulevard South, Petaluma police Sgt. Ryan Suhrke said. The officer tried to extricate the driver but there was major damage to the car, preventing him from doing so.
More officers tried to help get the driver out of the car until members of the Petaluma Fire Department arrived.

"The Petaluma firefighters employed the 'Jaws of Life' and were able to create an opening for them to remove the driver from the vehicle," Suhrke said. "The driver was identified as Htein Win, a resident of Oakland. As officers were investigating the collision, they located a large amount of alcohol in the vehicle and noticed objective signs of alcohol intoxication coming from Win."
Win was taken by Petaluma Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital for evaluation of moderate injuries.

Win was later arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended driver's license for DUI and violation of felony probation.
It is alleged that Win destroyed several trees and a city sign with his car. The vehicle was impounded, police said.
No other people were injured, and no other cars were involved.
