NORTH BAY, CA— The second of four consecutive weekend closures of state Highway 37 begins at 9 p.m. Friday and continues for 55 hours until 4 a.m. Monday, Caltrans announced.

This weekend, the highway is closed in the westbound direction between Mare Island in Solano County and Sears Point in Sonoma County as crews continue working on a major pavement repair project along the busy highway that serves the four counties of the North Bay.

The roadway has become worn from high traffic use and needs to be repaired, Caltrans said. The closures shorten the duration of the asphalt replacement project by 30 nights, improve the safety of the roadway and provide a better quality ride to the public, officials said.
