Woman Accused Of Embezzling Nearly $200K From Sonoma County Employer

It is alleged the 40-year-old woman used her employer's money on personal items and other unauthorized transactions.

PETALUMA, CA — A Rohnert Park woman is accused of using nearly $200,000 of her Petaluma employer's money on personal items for herself.

Gina Banducci, 40, was arrested April 4 on suspicion of embezzlement and booked into the Sonoma County jail, the Petaluma Police Department said Thursday.

Police began looking into Banducci March 28 when they received a call from Tomrose Construction, a Petaluma-based general contractor.

"Management from the company alleged an employee had embezzled a significant amount of money over the course of approximately two years," Petaluma police Lt. Matthew Parnow said.

An investigation ensued. Tomrose Construction provided documentation and alleged Banducci embezzled $180,000 from the company.

"The information and documentation provided showed Banducci had used company funds to pay for personal items and services that were not authorized by Tomrose Construction," Parnow said. "The unauthorized transactions dated back to 2023."

Petaluma police contacted Banducci at her residence in Rohnert Park and placed her under arrest. Jail records indicated she was no longer in custody Thursday.
