Police Blotter: Van, Bike & Cell Phone Stolen: Ammo & Bike Found; Dog Bite

The Piedmont police log from July 5 through noon of July 8 includes a van, bike and cell phone stolen in different incidents, a dog bite, a bag of bullets and shotgun shells found in hedges, a bike found in bushes and credit cards found on a wall.

Incidents highlighted in the blotter were recorded in the Piedmont Police Department log. Not all incidents recorded in the log are included here. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Friday, July 5

Hit and run accident – At 12:45 p.m., police logged a report of a hit and run to a vehicle on Littlewood.

Cell phone stolen – At 3:15 p.m., police received a report a cell phone taken from an unlocked vehicle on Monticello.

Saturday, July 6

Bike stolen – At 8:26 a.m., police logged a report of a bike stolen from a garage whose door was left open on St. James.

Dog bite – At 11:05 a.m., police received a report of person bitten by a dog on St. James at Park. Police went to the St. James address where the dog was contained for quarantine.

Bag of ammo found in bushes – At 3:26 p.m., police logged a report of a bag of bullets and shotgun shells found in hedges on Hardwick.

Fraud – At 7:15 p.m., a person told police that somone copied her ad for a vacation rental and is trying to collect money for the rental.

Sunday, July 7

Van stolen – At 10:51 a.m., police were notified that an older Mercury van was stolen overnight on Jerome.

ID theft – At 4:21 p.m., a person on Crest told police she believes a housemate stole her credit card number.

Credit cards found – At 8:27 p.m., police received a report that two credit cards were found on a cement wall in front of an address on Rose.

Monday, July 8

Bicycle found in bushes – At 7:23 a.m., a resident at Grand and Fairview reported finding a bicycle in her bushes.
