1 Dead, 1 Seriously Hurt In Interstate Crash

According to the CHP, the vehicle hit a tree.

RODEO, CA — A man was killed early Saturday morning when the car he was riding in struck a tree in Contra Costa County.

A woman driving the gold Toyota Corolla was taken to a hospital with major injuries and is expected to recover, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on Interstate Highway 80 at the Willow Avenue offramp when it struck a tree.

CHP officers responded to the scene at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday. A man who was a passenger in the car was declared dead at the scene.
