Drunk Driver With Concealed Gun Arrested In Hercules: Police

The gun was privately manufactured and had no serial number, according to Hercules Police.

HERCULES, CA — Hercules police arrested a man Sunday night for allegedly possessing a gun with no serial number and driving under the influence.

An officer conducted a traffic stop at approximately 9:35 p.m. on a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado as it entered onto westbound Interstate Highway 80 from San Pablo Avenue.

The officer contacted the driver, a Rodeo resident who allegedly showed obvious signs of intoxication and performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests.

The officer arrested the suspect and searched the vehicle, including a backpack in which he found a loaded black/tan pistol labeled "P80" in a black holster and alcoholic beverages.

The firearm was privately manufactured and had no serial number. The vehicle was towed and the driver was booked into jail.
