Earthquake Rattles Bay Area

The quake was reported Sunday night. Did you feel it?

PINOLE, CA — A small earthquake rattled parts of the San Francisco Bay Area Sunday night.

The quake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.4 was reported at 9:30 p.m. about 1.2 miles north-northwest of Pinole in Contra Costa County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake had a depth of about 6 miles.

Residents reported feeling the quake across the Bay Area, including in Benicia, El Cerrito, Half Moon Bay, Hercules, Pinole, Redwood City, San Francisco, Sunnyvale and Vallejo, according to the USGS's "Did You Feel It?" map.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.
