Uber Driver Evades Arrest; Man Drinks Stolen Wine in Bathroom: Hercules Police

Here is a partial list of Hercules Police Department calls for service, as reported on the Commander's Report.

HERCULES, CA- Hercules Police Department released a Commander's List of reported calls for service in the area. If there were officers in your neighborhood this week, this could be why.

March 24

  • Identity Theft: At 2:25 p.m., officers took a report in the lobby of Hercules Police Department. The victim told officers that she had received two bills in the mail from Verizon Wireless for phone service she did not order.
  • Public Intoxication: At 2:44 p.m., officers responded to a male that appeared to be under the influence in the area of Sycamore Ave. and San Pablo Ave. The call resulted in Rajesh Sathy, 35, arrested for public intoxication, booked in the Martinez Detention Center.
  • Court Order Violation: At approximately 7 p.m., officers responded to report of a court order violation. The father of the reporting persons’ two children was knocking on her door, in violation of a temporary restraining order reportedly issued. Officers report that the man was located and agreed to stay away.

  • Traffic Collision: At around 6:30 a.m., officers report an accident involving a vehicle verses pedestrian happened on the 1300 block of Willow Ave. Officials say the 56-year-old female was struck by a 2004 Mercedes while she was walking in the crosswalk, sustaining minor scrapes. The driver stopped and notified police.
  • Traffic Collision: At 8:50 a.m., officers arrived at an accident with air bags deployed in the 1200 block of Hercules Ave. An adult female was reportedly blinded by the sun when she hit a parked car causing minor damage.
  • Mental Health Evaluation: At 4:45 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Bristol for a woman reportedly wanting to kill herself. The 63-year-old woman was transported for a Mental Evaluation.
  • Evading and Resisting or Interfering Arrest: At 2:10 a.m., officers attempted to stop a Jeep Cherokee driving with no lights on and speeding. The Jeep reportedly drove through a stop sign at 4th and Vaqueros, and finally yielded about a mile and a half later. Driver, Cherelle Maria Knight, 27, of Vacaville had to be told ten times before exiting the vehicle. Knight reportedly told police that she was an Uber driver headed to pick up an intoxicated person, however, she was arrested for evading police.
  • Coroner’s Case: Officers responded to the 100 block of Raven Court at 2:59 a.m. for a female receiving CPR. The 48-year-old female was pronounced dead, with no sign of foul play.
  • Missing Person: A 15-year-old female was reported missing on the 100 block of Marigold. She was later located by BART Police at the El Cerrito Del Norte station.

March 27

  • Property Damage Vehicle Collision: At 7 a.m., officers arrived in the area of the 1800 block of Lupine Road, where a blue 2015 Honda reportedly collided with a parked car, pushing it two houses south onto the sidewalk. Driver was able to walk away, however the vehicle sustained major damage.
  • Evading: Officers preformed a traffic stop at 9:49 p.m. on the westbound I-80 onramp near John Muir for expired registration. The driver reportedly did not stop for police, continuing onto the highway weaving in and out of traffic. CHP took over the pursuit, at UC Berkeley, continuing onto Martin Luther King Blvd. in Oakland where officers terminated the chase for safety.
  • Probation Violation: Officers responded to Lucky’s grocery store at 11:37 for a man acting strange. Timothy Blunt, 45, was found in the store where he reportedly stole a bottle of wine and consumed it in the restroom. Blunt was found to have violated his probation and was arrested by Hercules Police.
