Local Police Train to Combat Active Shooter Incidents

Pinole and Hercules law enforcement agencies teamed up this past week for active shooting preparedness training days.

PINOLE, CA- 380 Americans were killed in 294 mass shootings in 2015, according to U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, making preparedness a priority for law enforcement.

Pinole and Hercules Police Department are doing their part to keep the community safe by holding active shooter response training.

Officials report that officers from both departments spent two days training on how they will handle an active shooter situation this past week.

The training, conducted at the Hercules High School campus, was part of a partnership with the West Contra Costa Unified School District. The three organizations continue to work together toward the common goal of keeping the students and community safe.
