Over 900 Hercules, East Bay Customers Impacted By PG&E Outages

EAST BAY, CA — Pacific Gas and Electric Company was working to restore power Monday to approximately 700 East Bay customers in Hercules, El Cerrito, Richmond, San Pablo and Oakland.
"Most of these customers were impacted by the weather-related outages that started on Sunday, in which PG&E is replacing damaged equipment," PG&E Spokesperson Deanna Contreras said.
Crews made significant progress overnight and Monday morning and alerts were sent to customers about when PG&E expects their power to be restored.

The East Bay customers were among 2,162 in the Bay Area impacted by planned maintenance or other unplanned faults on the lines, PG&E said. There were 45 customers impacted in San Francisco, 408 on the Peninsula, 250 in the North Bay, 941 in the East Bay, and 518 in the South Bay.
Meanwhile, fewer than 200 customers in Napa and Solano counties were impacted by a public safety power shutoff as of 11:40 a.m. Monday, PG&E said in an update.

PG&E started shutting off power in the two counties for safety Monday morning amid a red flag warning for the North Bay mountains, East Bay hills and East Bay mountains.
Power will be restored to customers in Napa and Solano counties affected by the PSPS outage when the severe weather passes and all lines can be inspected, Contreras said..
"We expect the power to be turned on intermittently throughout the day with ALL customers expected to be restored by 6 p.m. tonight," Contreras said. "Customers may experience momentary outages today, as part of the restoration process. In fact, about 9,000 customers were impacted for just a few minutes this morning in Richmond."
