PINOLE, CA — To support local independent brick-and-mortar businesses that experienced economic hardship due to the pandemic, as well as to provide financial assistance to households, the City of Pinole has launched the Pinole Perks digital gift card program. The Pinole Perks program allows anyone to purchase digital gift cards that are accepted at small independent businesses in Pinole.

“The Pinole City Council’s vision for a community digital gift card program during the coronavirus pandemic is a simple yet effective way to both stimulate the local economy and provide some additional savings to residents while shopping locally,” explained Pinole’s Community Development Director, Lilly Whalen. “The Pinole Perks program is designed to promote small independent merchants, encourage shopping and dining at local businesses, and incentivize residents to resume and continue their patronage of services in Pinole. When we buy from independent, locally owned businesses, a significantly greater portion of our money is then cycled back through our local economy, which supports and lifts our entire community.”

For a limited time, anyone who purchases a Pinole Perks card will receive an additional 50% of the
value to spend at participating businesses in Pinole and all standard purchasing fees will be waived.
