Pinole Scraps Plans For July 4th Fireworks In 2023
City officials cited difficulty securing a "safe and accessible" launch site among the reasons.
PINOLE, CA — Pinole canceled plans to host a 4th of July fireworks display for 2023, according to a statement released Saturday.
"For a number of years, until 2010, the city hosted a fireworks display at Bayfront Park on Fourth of July. The city had been hoping to again host fireworks on Fourth of July in 2023," city officials said on social media.
"After collaborating with partner agencies to assess Bayfront Park and other sites, it was determined that there is no safe and accessible site in Pinole from which to launch fireworks," officials said, adding, "Since Pinole last held fireworks, fireworks safety standards and practices have evolved, and concern about wildfires has increased substantially."
