Smoke Expected From Training Burn At Point Pinole Shoreline Park

The East Bay Regional Park District said smoke may be visible but people should not report it because first responders are already aware.

EAST BAY, CA — The East Bay Regional Park District is performing a firefighter training burn Wednesday at Point Pinole Regional Shoreline.

The training is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of a firefighting training exercise, according to a spokesperson for the Park District.

"Smoke may be visible," Spokesperson Jen Vanya said. "Please do not report it to first responders, who are aware of the training burn."

The training burn is in accordance with air quality restrictions, Vanya added.

Point Pinole Regional Shoreline is a 2,432-acre parkland next to Pinole, Richmond and San Pablo. Temporary trail closures will be in effect throughout the day Wednesday on the Cooks Point Trail, Giant Station Trail, Pinole Point Trail and Powerhouse Trail.
