Two Close Brush Fires Break In Contra Costa County

BREAKING: The first fire was reported at 2:30 p.m.

PINOLE, CA — Firefighters responded to two brush fires in the same area around 2:30 p.m. Friday in Pinole, according to Cal Fire.

Forward progress has been stopped on the fires, according to Cal Fire.

Firefighters reported the first fire was near Alhambra Valley Road and Castro Ranch Road and was about 2 acres, but around 2:50 p.m. they reported another 5-acre fire was close and on a steep slope with a moderate rate of speed, Cal Fire said.
