Woman Shot And Killed In The Bay Area: Police

VALLEJO, CA — Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman at a Bay Area home Tuesday night, according to the Vallejo Police Department.

Details about the shooting or who shot the woman were not immediately available.

Officers found the woman's body just before 9 p.m. at a home in the 200 block of Maine Street in Vallejo, police said. She had been shot at least once and died at the scene, police said.

Her identity was not immediately released as the Solano County Sheriff's Coroner's Office works to notify her family of her death.

The Vallejo Police Department said it activated its neighborhood impact team to provide outreach to community members impacted by the shooting, police said.
