Little more than the exterior walls of the house remain from the blaze, which Marshall described as a "total loss."

Marshall said the fire caused an estimated $300,000 in damage and displaced two adults who lived in the home.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze by about 6:30 p.m., he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Marshall said neighbors reported some suspicious activity prior to the blaze breaking out.
