I-680 Closure Scheduled For St. Patrick's Day Weekend
Caltrans will have detours in place, but expect a mess.

DUBLIN, CA - Caltrans has rescheduled its closure of a portion of southbound I-680 for St. Patrick’s Day Weekend.
The southbound section between the I-580/680 connector and Koopman Road will be closed from 9 p.m. on Friday, March 15 to 4 a.m. Monday, March 18 for repaving work. Southbound Foothill Road and southbound Pleasanton-Sunol Road will also be closed at Castlewood Drive. Signs will direct drivers to use I-880 in the northbound and southbound directions. This will likely create a messy traffic situation around Dublin, which plans to host a large number of visitors for its weekend of St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

- Annual Firefighter's Pancake Breakfast: Saturday, 7-10 a.m., 7494 Donahue Drive.
- 40th St. Patrick's Day Parade: Saturday, 9:30 a.m. at Dublin Boulevard and Amador Plaza Road, ending at the Dublin Senior Center.
- St. Patrick's Day Festival: Two-day Irish-themed festival and marketplace at the Dublin Civic Center, which includes a carnival on Saturday and a drone show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
- Shamrock 5K Fun Run and Walk: Sunday, 8:30 a.m., Dublin Boulevard near the Civic Center, followed by a festival at the Civic Center.

The I-680 closure will be canceled in the event of inclement weather. Planned closures on Presidents Day and MLK Day weekends were postponed.
