8.0 Earthquake Simulator Coming To Pleasanton Wednesday
Ever wondered what an 8.0 quake feels like? The CEA's Big Shake Trailer helps simulate it and provides advice on how to prepare.
PLEASANTON, CA — A 3.5 earthquake rattled the East Bay Monday, a reminder of the importance of proper earthquake preparedness.
Sometimes, reading about it isn't quite enough. On Wednesday, the California Earthquake Authority's Big Shake Trailer is coming to Pleasanton, allowing visitors to simulate an earthquake experience and learn how to prepare.
Visitors will be able to enter a 20' x 30' x 15' earthquake simulator that rocks back and forth with motions as strong as those of an 8.0 earthquake.
