From funnel cakes to fair concerts, here's everything you need to know about the Alameda County Fair in 2021.

PLEASANTON, CA — Miss pig racing, fair concerts and deep-fried Oreos last year?

The Alameda County Fair is back. Organizers announced Monday what visitors can expect at the fair, which runs Oct. 22 to 31 and will be open from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekends.

This year's theme is "Come Together." The 2020 event was canceled due to concerns about limiting spread of the coronavirus.

“We are so excited that the Fair is back to offer our community the safe, family fun that they’ve always enjoyed here,” said Jerome Hoban, fairgrounds CEO, in a statement. “We invite everyone to come out, come together, and have fun!”

10 Alameda County Fair Concerts

Guests must reserve tickets online prior to the following concerts, which begin at 8 p.m.

  • Oct. 22: Kalimba the Spirit of Earth Wind & Fire.
  • Oct. 23: Night Ranger.
  • Oct. 24: The Garth Guy — The Ultimate Garth Brooks Tribute Show.
  • Oct. 25: The Boys of Summer — The Music of the Eagles.
  • Oct. 26: Lenny Williams.
  • Oct. 27: Smash Mouth.
  • Oct. 28: Rose Royce.
  • Oct. 29: WAR.
  • Oct. 30: Exposé.
  • Oct. 31: Journey Revisited.

Fair Food

Guests can expect familiar classics such as corn dogs, deep-fried Oreos and funnel cakes, plus some new offerings, including specialty grilled cheese.

Rewards are available with each purchase of a food or drink item.

Fair Fun

Here are some of the activities on tap for fairgoers, according to the fairgrounds.

  • Professor Smart's Science Show and Bugology 1-2-Fun walk-through exhibit.
  • Carnival.
  • Pig racing.
  • Imperial Knights Medieval Stunt Show.

Costs

Capacity will be limited amid the pandemic.

Guests can expect the following fees.

  • Ages 6-12: $15.
  • Ages 13-61: $18.
  • Ages 62 and up: $15.
  • General parking: $15 Saturday and Sunday; free weekdays.
  • Carnival wristband daily rate: $30 advance purchase; $35 Monday-Thursday; $40 Friday-Sunday.
  • Unlimited sky ride: $6 per day.
