Beloved K-9 Retires From The Pleasanton Police Department

K-9 Falco, a German Shepherd​, who worked with the Pleasanton Police Department since 2011 retired this week.

PLEASANTON, CA — A brave pooch who spent a decade keeping his community safe has officially traded in his doggy badge and uniform for the civilian life.

K-9 Falco, a German Shepherd, who worked with the Pleasanton Police Department since 2011 retired this week.

During his time with the department, he and his handler made many arrests, won awards for narcotic detections and assisted other law enforcement agencies in the Tri-Valley area, including the Livermore Police Department, the California Highway Patrol and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.

Following his retirement, Falco can now enjoy a peaceful life of playing at home, eating and sleeping to his heart's content.

Meanwhile, his handler will start a different type of work within the department in investigations.
