There are a few options when it comes to recycling your Christmas tree in town this season. What to know.
PLEASANTON, CA — Don't dump or burn your Christmas tree this year — recycle it instead in Dublin.
One of the worst parts about the end of the holiday season can be figuring out what to do with your holiday tree. Luckily, there are several recycling options. But first, trees must be stripped of lights, tinsel, garlands, ornaments and stands. Flocked trees will not be able to be composted.
Residents are encouraged to choose the option that best fits their schedule and to make sure trees are properly prepared for recycling.

Trees must be free of flocking and tinsel, cut to 4 feet or less, and have all bases or stands removed before being placed curbside.
Clean holiday trees may also be placed in green waste containers at any time after the holidays. Trees must have no flocking or tinsel, and branches and stumps should be cut into 2-foot sections to ensure the cart lid can fully close.
Trees with flocking or tinsel cannot be recycled. Residents with non-recyclable trees should contact Pleasanton Garbage Service at 925-846-2042 to discuss disposal options.
